  • Former Strikeforce and Invicta FC featherweight champ, Cris Cyborg and UFC strawweight Angela Magana got into an altercation this past weekend at the UFC fighters retreat when Cyborg socked her. Charges have been pressed and Cyborg could possibly even face jail time. Many in the MMA community feel that Magana got what was coming to her after trolling Cyborg online. Cyborg referred to insults from Magana as "bullying" and feels the issue is systemic from the top down in the organization. There is a big size difference in the two ladies, so an MMA fight in the cage could likely never happen, but on the street there's a different type of justice and once in a while one will have to answer for something they did or said to spark the ire of said opponent. Magana got a fist-full but stood strong and showed a good chin. It's unfortunate the police were called and the legal system is now involved, but that's the world we live in. Still, after all this, Magana has now sent out a challenge to Cris Cyborg in the form of a BJJ match with a gi and no time limit. Well, if we can't get an MMA fight, this is the next best thing, is it not? And do you think both ladies could restrain themselves enough to not let loose a few elbows and punches during this? The #illchokeyououtbitch is a nice touch. The #idontfightinthestreets may not be the best alternative if you are getting attacked. Sometimes you may be forced to fight in the streets if there is an attack, in order to survive. Fortunately this battle didn't escalate to that level, yet. But if you think the right hook from Cyborg slowed Magana down any, think again. Magana hasn't let up one bit on social media. In fact, she's amped it up. Is this a case of Magana not learning her lesson, or is she going to have the last laugh in court? Cyborg feels she is being sexually harassed and is speaking out about it. Cyborg talks about the bully culture she has experienced with the UFC. To be continued...

  •     If the writing of WWE hasn't made you scratch your head yet, this will get you there. So it wasn't always the plan for Jinder Mahal  to defeat Randy Orton Sunday at backlash.  Rusev had been slated for the spot Mahal is in.  He was even told to be in Chicago to kickstart the feud with Randy.  BUT... Two hours before The pay per view started, WWE officials decided to let Mahal win the championship. Reportedly, the plan is still in place for Rusev to win next month's money in the bank.  As of right now a match hasn't been announced officially for him yet.  There is no word on if and when he will be placed in a program with Randy Orton. It sounds like a giant mess in the writer's room for WWE.

  • BJJ black belt Daniel O'Brien is taking his grappling game to the next level. The Triad Martial Arts instructor recently competed at the Kukoto Challenge and wore a blindfold during his matches. He won the first round against a Black Belt and won round 2 against a Brown Belt with an armlock. He ended up submitting three opponents before losing in the fourth round. That's pretty damn good! Check out this footage from the tournament. Renowned martial arts instructor and longtime friend of Pro MMA Now, Dan "The Wolfman" Theodore recently posted this video of him practicing closed eye sensitivity awareness drills against an opponent. He also shows off some Aikido and anti-grappling Systema attacks. Check it out and let us know if you think training blindfolded and some of these traditional martial arts techniques have a place in modern grappling and MMA? Check out Wolfman's Youtube page for a ton more MMA and grappling instructional videos.

  • On Tuesday night's SmackDown Live, Commissioner Shane McMahon announced that Randy Orton will get his rematch against new WWE Champion Jinder Mahal at the Money In the Bank event that takes place next month. Also, Smackdown's Money In the Bank Ladder Match has been finalized on paper. The official participants will be AJ Styles, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, Shinsuke Nakamura and WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens. The matches will happen June 18th from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis. It is a Smackdown only event that will be aired on the WWE Network.

  • Tony Ferguson We almost had Tony Ferguson vs. Nate Diaz at UFC 213 on July 9, 2017, in Las Vegas, Nevada. And then, and then, and then Nate Diaz backed out because reasons.  On The MMA Hour”  Ferguson held nothing back and put Diaz on blast for backing out, biking, and just straight being a bi**h. He wants to talk about doing this biking thing, you don’t even own a Harley, you got a Schwinn bike. You have got no heart. You call yourself gangster? You’re backing out from a fight. Let’s go dude. We’ve got a main event that’s open that needs to be filled. So if you want to make some money and impress the fans, want to get back out there and sell your weed, that’s great. Sign on the dotted line and put your name back out in the crowd. Let’s go kid. You’re a bitch, I don’t know what his problem is. I understand you said McGregor, I’m not going to do your dirty work for you. I don’t want to have to go into name calling, I don’t want to do that, but if you’re a fighter in this organization, and you said you’d rather go ride a bicycle, you got better things to do? That’s cute. That’s real cute. UFC 213 needs star power right now and this fight could have provided it. Alas, Ferguson vs. Diaz is still on our wishlist until the stars align.

  • As Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather Jr fight rumors ramp up it keeps on getting crazier. Dana says it's close to being done and then Floyd says it's not - and a week later - reverse those statements. Here's what TMZ is reporting now about how serious things are getting. If this is true I would expect a boxing bout date announced soon. We spoke with McGregor’s rep who says The Notorious is “only training boxing” while working out in Dublin to focus on the super fight. That’s right … the UFC lightweight (and former featherweight) champ ain’t practicing mixed martial arts. Dana White announced last Thursday that McGregor’s side of the deal is complete. Will Conor vacate the 145 pound title? The real question is whether or not he will actually fight Mayweather and survive a round with the 49-0 great.

  • [caption id="attachment_109094" align="aligncenter" width="700"] Michael Bisping - photo by Jay Cee for[/caption] UFC middleweight king Michael Bisping was supposed to be fighting someone at some point at the beginning of the summer. Then he announced he was having knee surgery and it messed up plans for a defense. Shortly after this his rumored opponent at that time, and killer Yoel Romero said he planned on waiting for his title shot. Suddenly, GSP appeared and before you know it the fight between Georges St. Pierre and Michael was on - and then it wasn't. GSP was all in for a late summer bout and hype was building, they made the match, and then...St. Pierre said it would be November until he could fight. Bisping agreed to wait and the entire middleweight division called BS and demanded at least an interim title. Now, Michael has stirred the pot even more by wanting someone else to face Yoel. I’m assuming that they’re probably gonna do an interim title fight but I’ve got to speak to Dana. . . Probably Whittaker vs. Yoel, if I were the matchmakers, that’s what I’d do. Whittaker, we all know this, he’s on an absolute tear. I’ve got nothing against Robert Whittaker. Fine young man, great fighter, fights hard, got a lot of respect for him. Can’t say the same about Yoel. Yoel is certainly not on my Christmas card list. We all know my thoughts on him. He’s a scumbag, he’s a cheat, and that’s that. So if they do fight, I hope Whittaker beats the brains out of him. Whittaker? At this point, Bisping has no ground to stand on when it comes to advising Dana on any title decisions. Fighting an aging, shell of his former self Dan Henderson was gratifying in terms of Bisping's revenge, but there were deserving middleweights waiting. GSP is a welterweight and it is obvious that Michael wants big money and GSP believes he can beat him. None of this relieves the pressure at the top of the division. Bisping needs to defend it against a number one or two opponent or vacate the title. If not, at the least they need an interim until he is healed or willing to fight them.

  • Top light heavyweight contenders Glover Teixeira and Alexander Gustaffson will face-off in the UFC Fight Night 109 main event on May 28 from Ericsson Globe in Stockholm. Now go behind-the-scenes as these two former title challengers prepare for their upcoming showdown in Sweden.

  • Before top Tennessee amateur heavyweight contender Billy “Big Sexy” Swanson goes for a national title at the UMMAF National Championship Tournament in Elizabethton, Tenn., on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, LIVE on FloCombat, the Blue Chip prospect caught up with ProMMANow. How was your camp for this fight? It’s going really well, mostly because I’ve got a great team behind me. My weight has come off really easy; I feel healthy. I can’t wait. Have you been preparing for this tournament any differently than you do for a fight, knowing you may compete three times in three days? The guys who I train with get me ready. I train with extremely tough guys -- too many to name -- who give me more of a challenge than anyone I’ll see in this tournament. There’s really no way to prepare for fighting so much than to finish your opponents as soon as possible, which is always my goal when I fight. Do you have anything to say to your competitors in your heavyweight bracket? You better be prepared. If they come in thinking that I’m not at the level everyone says I am, they’re shit out of luck. At the end of the day, “Big Sexy” will be crowned UMMAF National Champion. What will that title mean to you? It will mean that everything is starting to fall in place. It’s an amazing opportunity for me to gain experience and get my name out there. Being crowned a UMMAF National Champion will open up the door to go overseas, represent Tennessee at the IMMAF World Championships in Bahrain and prove that I’m knocking on the door of some of the biggest promotions in the world. It will be the start of everything.
